Shine
heralding winter's end and the upswing of light and day length for the northern hemisphere; you've made it through - now shine!
My light will shine again,
because I have remembered that I want to live.
The regularity of suffering wore me out and began to dim the light of my being.
The effort it took to keep that fire kindled despite the howling winds of hardship was almost too much, almost snuffed me out.
But I was reminded by a friend how needed I am.
The Earth needs all those who have been born, otherwise they wouldn’t have been born.
If you have been born, it is because there is a family that is living to meet you; it may be the one you’ve been born into, or one you have yet to meet. In either case, they are waiting.
If you have been born, it is because there is a community that needs you; without you, a puzzle is missing a piece.
In its entreating warmth, the sun encourages growth. That which grows reaches lovingly towards the sun, utterly enthralled with life itself, with the miraculous opportunity to be.
Because I want life, a growing light shines within me, unaffected by even the shortest of days or the darkest of nights.
